Working With SCM

Who you deal with, how reporting works, what is expected from you, and how to tell whether it is working.

The short answer

Sentinel Creative Marketing is a Troy, Michigan agency that scopes work in writing before it starts, reports monthly in plain English, and does not require a sales call before telling you what something costs.

Troy, Michigan, in Metro Detroit. Most of the work runs remotely without any loss of quality.

Being based somewhere still matters for the parts of the job that are genuinely local: Google Business Profile, citations, review flow and local search. Those work the same way whichever market you are in; the profile and citations simply point at yours.

Dakota Ealy, who founded SCM and does the work. There is no account manager layer between you and whoever is building the pages and writing the emails, which means nothing gets lost being relayed and you never get a status update from somebody who has not seen the work.

The practical trade-off is honest: a small operation cannot take on unlimited clients at once. If the calendar is full you will be told that rather than queued.

Fifteen minutes for the briefing call, read-only access to whatever is currently live, and — once the scope is agreed — account access, store admin and brand assets.

The thing that most often slows an engagement down is proof: testimonials, results, reviews and logos you already have but have not collected in one place. Gathering that early is the single most useful thing a client can do.

A monthly report in plain English covering leads by source and industry, consultations booked, assessment completions, rankings, AI visibility, ad performance, and the specific changes planned for the following month.

Momentum and Market Leader also include a live dashboard, so you can check the numbers whenever you want instead of waiting for the report. Strategy sessions are quarterly on Essentials and Momentum, monthly on Market Leader.

Say so, early and specifically. Every deliverable goes through approval before it ships, and the strategy session exists precisely so priorities can be reset rather than quietly drifting for six months.

Scope is written down before work begins for the same reason — most agency disputes are disagreements about what was promised, not about quality.

Yes — most of the work is remote and where your business sits makes no practical difference to it. Websites, SEO, GEO, email, paid media and content all run the same way wherever you are.

The one exception is on-site video work, which needs someone in the room. Outside Metro Detroit that gets arranged locally or skipped.

SCM works across service businesses, local retail, ecommerce, nonprofits and B2B — anywhere the buyer researches before they buy. The methodology does not change by sector; what changes is the messaging research behind it.

That is what the Magnetic Messaging Playbook is for, built per industry: the buyer, the problems, the objections and the language get worked out properly before a single page gets written.

Yes. The audit is genuinely useful here because it documents the state of things at handover — what was built, what was left broken, and what is actually being paid for.

SCM will not run a campaign about how bad the last agency was. The findings get reported as findings.

Yes. Send it across with your inquiry and it gets handled before any material is shared in either direction.

SCM does not buy followers, write fake reviews, guarantee rankings, mark up ad spend, or lock clients into two-year contracts. It also does not take on work it cannot do well — if a request is outside the wheelhouse, you will get told that rather than sold it.

By measuring leads and customers rather than impressions. That is the whole point of the measurement stack going in during week one: GA4 with real conversion goals, call tracking, and CRM integration so every lead carries its source.

Without that, any agency — including this one — can show you a chart that goes up and no way to tell whether it produced revenue. With it, the monthly report answers the only question that matters: how many customers came from this, and what did each one cost.
